The Fall Season
The Fall season is the more layed back season. In the Fall we play mixed, boys and girls playing together as one fantastic team. We participate in the Twin Cities Ultiamte League (TCUL) which is an adult league but there is a growing number of high schools playing in the league. In the Fall of 2013 there was a record 10 high school teams playing in the league from around the state. We play at the Nokomis fields on the west side of Lake Nokomis. We practice at Martin Luther King Park on 40th and Nicollet. It's an absurdly fun season with no pressure, just going out and having fun playing frisbee.
The Spring Season
The Spring season is the main high school season for ultimate. It is the only season you can letter in frisbee (yes, you can letter in frisbee!). Spring is where we split by gender and ramp up our game to take on high school teams from all over the state. The boys play a game every Thursday and the girls play a game every Tuesday. Throughout the season we do also participate in weekend tournaments which are always a blast. At the end of the season in early June, there's a massive state tournament at the Blaine Sports Center.
Who is MÃœS?
MUS is a quirky team with a focus on Spirit of the Game and community. We encourage everyone regardless of athletic ability or coordination to come try the sport. We want to give everyone the opportunity to fall in love with the game just like we did. We practice as one, unified team (Boys A and B teams and the girl’s team). At practice, veteran players take the helm with advice and input from our world-class coaches. As a team we don’t focus on besting the competition, but rather on enjoying our time on the field and playing better than we did last game as well as embracing the spirit of compassion and cooperation that the game inspires.
MÃœS uses a variety of comunication devices. The main forms of communication are through email and the facebook page. Upon registration, you will be automatically added to the emailing list and the Team Snap. If you want to join the facebook group, it's an open group, just click here.
How MÃœS Communicates
Team Snap is a third party organizational tool the MÃœS uses. It's used to send out clear and concise emails with information about games and tournaments as well as keep track of who is attending. When you are first added to Team Snap, you will recieve an email asking you to confirm which you must do to be added. Once added you will recieve updates on games and tournaments which you must respond to in the form of answering whether or not you will be there. It's a new tool for our team but it will be a valuable tool in organizing numbers and information.
